When the Player is grabbed by Hans, they are placed at the designated destination defined by the last checkpoint activated by the player. If the player bowls on the first frame after Hans leaves the screen, they are granted a speed boost. This speed boost is derived from the game storing SpongeBob's position in the level at a defined location before displacing him within one frame. The further from this location, the larger the displacement and the faster the bowl boost. While grounded, the speed at which SpongeBob can travel is capped, but this cap is removed when he is travelling upward. Thus, when the player jumps after performing a Bowl Boost, they are given a speed boost for the duration of their upward momentum.
